Educators in VR is assisting with the production of the free, 2-day XR Michigan 2021 Summit April 6-7, 2021, with two special events in AltspaceVR.
First, all Educators in VR members are invited to register for the free 2-day conference on Hopin as well as join us in AltspaceVR for the social events on the University of Michigan campus Diag, recreated in AltspaceVR by the students as part of the Center for Academic Innovation and their Extended Reality (XR) Initiative program.
Speakers include Jeremy Bailenson, Founding Director of Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab, Joanna Popper, Global Head of Virtual Reality for Location Based Entertainment at HP, Nick Klingensmith, Mixed Reality Academy Lead Engineer at Microsoft, and panels of educational and industry leaders specializing in XR design and engineering, digital studies, healthcare and medicine, and more.
The two social events in AltspaceVR include the Open House pre-event social Friday, April 2, and the main XR @ Michigan 2021 Summit Social Tuesday, April 6. Jeremy Nelson, Director of XR Initiative at University of Michigan, and Alan Smithson, co-founder of the MetaVRse, will host this social event.
These events are part of the amazing work and programs by the Center for Academic Innovation as part of their Extended Reality (XR) Initiative, changing the lives of University of Michigan students and teachers, especially over the past year, to extend academic excellence, expand public purpose, and discover new frontiers for teaching and learning.
