Educators in VR offers meetups, workshops, socials, and special events in virtual reality. Don’t have a VR headset? Don’t worry. Most of the VR platforms we use support access through 2D, Windows desktops and laptops, and sometimes iOS computers.
You may RSVP on the event from our channel and AltspaceVR will send you a reminder an hour before the event. If you RSVP or are a paid attendee, in-world, go to Events > My Events to find the event to access 3 minutes prior to the event start time.
If attending a private or ticketed event in AltspaceVR, please register with AltspaceVR prior to registering for the event. You will be asked for your AltspaceVR registration username and email to ensure your invitation to the event is set up properly. If it isn’t, we will contact you by email or other methods as much as possible to ensure you have access to the event. Please go into AltspaceVR in advance of the event and contact us immediately with a screenshot of your AltspaceVR user profile if you do not see the event listed under Events > My Events.
To find your AltspaceVR user profile with the username and email, go to AltspaceVR and click your profile image to access your account information. It will display your username and email address registered with that account. Take a screenshot and email us to expedite inclusion in the event.
AltspaceVR, like other virtual platforms, require an account for access. You may attend using the free AltspaceVR mobile app or 2D version. AltspaceVR is available for Oculus Go, Quest, and Rift, HTC Vive (Steam), and Windows Mixed Reality users. If you do not have a VR device, you may also install the 2D version for use on your Windows desktop computer through SteamVR or the Microsoft Store. A headset and microphone (quality earbuds acceptable) is required to participate. Otherwise please stay muted during the event as the background noise and echoes may be disruptive. For more information on accessing and installing AltspaceVR, check out their download web page.
To find events on ENGAGE, check their Events calendar or the link from our announcements and register for the event. Some events require a room code. Please note that and type that in to access the event.
