How to Attend an Educators in VR Event

Educators in VR offers meetups, workshops, socials, and special events in virtual reality. Don’t have a VR headset? Don’t worry. Most of the VR platforms we use support access through 2D, Windows desktops and laptops, and sometimes iOS computers.

We offer events in AltspaceVR, ENGAGE, and other platforms featuring key educators, trainers, and developers in VR, AR, XR, and MR technology and education.

Below is a list of the VR platforms and apps we often support.

AltspaceVR

You may RSVP on the event from our channel and AltspaceVR will send you a reminder an hour before the event. If you RSVP or are a paid attendee, in-world, go to Events > My Events or Events > Interested to find the event to access 3 minutes prior to the event start time.

AltspaceVR now supports Destination Codes or event or world codes to take you directly from the Welcome screen to an event or world. We will be adding those codes to our upcoming events to help you access the events quickly and easily.

AltspaceVR username and email profile information. If attending a private or ticketed event in AltspaceVR, please register with AltspaceVR prior to registering for the event. You will be asked for your AltspaceVR registration username and email to ensure your invitation to the event is set up properly. If it isn’t, we will contact you by email or other methods as much as possible to ensure you have access to the event. Please go into AltspaceVR in advance of the event and contact us immediately with a screenshot of your AltspaceVR user profile if you do not see the event listed under Events > My Events or Interested. If you have the Destination or Event code for the event, that will work as well.

To find your AltspaceVR user profile with the username and email, go to AltspaceVR and click your profile image to access your account information. It will display your username and email address registered with that account. Take a screenshot and email us to expedite inclusion in the event.

Students in VR - XR StorytellingAltspaceVR, like other virtual platforms, is free and requires an account for access. It is available for most headset and VR devices. You may attend using the free AltspaceVR 2D Windows version from the Microsoft Store or Mac desktop computer. A headset and microphone (quality earbuds acceptable) is required to participate. Otherwise please stay muted during the event as the background noise and echoes may be disruptive.
