Copyrights

All content published on this site and used in the Educators in VR events are protected under international law for Copyright Fair Use and used appropriately. All content on this website is copyrighted by Educators in VR and its representatives, except where indicated elsewhere.

Content is may be excerpted for editorial and educational use only without permission, limited to 400 words or 10%, with appropriate citation credit and links to the source. All other use of the content is restricted. Requests for use of copyright content maybe made through our contact form.

Disclosure

Educators in VR is a for-profit, social limited company based in Wales, United Kingdom. Educators in VR strives to abide by international guidelines for disclosure of existing relationships, clearly identifying content that may be influenced by business and personal relationships with partners, advertisers, and sponsors when Educators in VR is compensated to provide an opinion on products, services, sites, and other topics.

Educators in VR is not associated with any academic or commercial entity. At times, Educators in VR will partner with academic and commercial entities for specific projects and funding. These associations will be disclosed at the time and this policy updated accordingly.

The Educators in VR Board, advisors, partners, and members represents diverse individuals representing various academic, commercial, and educational representatives, owners, and employees. Board, advisors, and partner members are required to disclose conflicts and potential conflicts of interest as part of their affiliation with Educators in VR as required by international laws.

Code of Conduct

Educators in VR’s principles and rules of conduct apply to all events and activities, in the real world and in the virtual metaverse. Our principles begin with the community standards, terms of service, and conduct guidelines for the platforms we use for our events in VR/XR, including:

Our rules of conduct encourages respectful behavior that respects cultural, societal, religious beliefs, manners, and customs, free from intolerance, harassment, and bigotry. With freedom of speech comes responsibility, and we respect and appreciate thoughtful and respectful open discussions with that in mind.

Privacy

Educators in VR also adheres to the privacy laws as set by the EU GDPR and other privacy laws. All data collected on this website and for events are for Educators in VR’s appropriate use and all data collected for events is opt-in and not shared nor sold. Data collected by other agencies including social VR platforms and commercial production customers are not the responsibility of Educators in VR and its representatives.

Educators in VR hosts content and discussions on multiple platforms including a website, Discord server, Facebook group, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms. Registration with such platforms collects potentially private information such as name, email, IP address, mailing address, and credit card information that might be available to Educators in VR by members participating on these platforms. Security, protection, and opt in or out controls of such information is the responsibility of those platforms and not Educators in VR.

There will be times when private information may be collected as part of the activities and business of Educators in VR. Such participation is optional and the information will be used as disclosed in the request, accessible only to the staff and representatives of Educators in VR, and allow user to view and delete the information per law.

Liability

Participant agrees to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Educators in VR. Participant will also agree to all terms of service on the social VR platform used for the event or activity in line with registration for that platform or service, per the terms of service polices listed above in the Code of Conduct.

Educators in VR paid events requires 48 hours notice in writing prior to the event or class commencing for a refund, transfer, or credit, unless otherwise stated on the event description. In the event of a cancellation by Educators in VR for a paid event, participants will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund, transfer, or credit, unless otherwise stated on the event description.

Events produced by Educators in VR as commercial, client events pass on liability and privacy to the event host(s). Educators in VR is not liable or responsible for the financial, liabilities, or other legal responsibilities for these events beyond the agreed contract between customer and Educators in VR.

Discrimination

Educators in VR does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

Educators in VR is an equal opportunity employer. We will not discriminate and will take affirmative action measures to ensure against discrimination in employment, recruitment, advertisements for employment, compensation, termination, upgrading, promotions, and other conditions of employment against any employee or job applicant on the bases of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, veteran’s status, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Member Guidelines

A member of Educators in VR is a learner, researcher, teacher, and trainer with a vested interest in education with and in virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, and related spatial technologies. Educators in VR offers various levels of free and paid membership with different offerings for each level. Check the Membership page for more information.

Members must comply with the above Rules of Conduct and other Educators in VR rules and guidelines to maintain their membership. Educators in VR reserves the right to remove membership without warning at any time. Typically, though, Educators in VR’s production team will work with the member to resolve the issue prior to revocation.

In compliance with EU, California, and international privacy and child protection laws, member ages are restricted to 13 and above.
